Anyone who has kids or who tries to take pictures of kids with any kind of frequency, knows that getting that perfect picture is much easier said than done. We thought this one was pretty near perfect (except for the mess in the background). Both kids are so happy and healthy and we are extremely grateful for all we have.

Cuties
Britten and Hailey posing on X-mas Eve before going to Grandpa and Grandma's house for the night.
Hallford Family
The four of us at Chris' parents house on X-mas Eve 2010. It was our 20th time trying to get a picture with the self-timer acting up. It's really the only family picture we have so decided to share it.

Waimanalo Beach Memories
Here's a musical medley representing a small portion of our wonderful vacation in Hawaii. We stayed in the small town of Waimanalo and practically had the beach to ourselves. We spent some quality time playing in the waves and sand with my Dad, Aunt Michelle, Braden and Rayanne.

Opening Day
The kids' baseball season officially began on Saturday and we are White Sox fanatics. They each had their second game this evening. I am amazed at how far each has progressed. It's so cool being a parent watching my children play, learn, have fun and develop. I can only hope that I am continually amazed.
Lots of love to everyone.

12 Days Until Spring
We have been very fortunate to get a lot of rain so far this season. The plants are so happy. Britten and Hailey think I'm a little crazy when I talk like that but they really are happy. It's going to be a gorgeous Spring. We've been staying busy. Chris is working on a fence & retaining wall in the back yard to give a couple of my happy plants a nice trellis - and to brighten the view from our kitchen window. The kids are doing well. Both are in tee-ball. The season officially starts Saturday. Hailey's the smallest child on her team and Britten is the tallest. It's so cute watching them out there playing. Britten is still doing Cub Scouts and is on track to promote to the next level this summer. Hailey is registered for Kindergarten and eagerly counting the months/weeks/days. We're getting geared up for our big trip to Hawaii next month. Can't wait to see the family and have some down time from work.
The kids are really into the Wizard of Oz right now. We're currently reading the 8th book in the series. They're totally hooked. One of the local theaters put on a play last weekend. We brought Dian for her birthday. The kids were so thrilled to actually meet some of their favorite storybook characters. It was a great time and Dian had her camera ready at the exact right moment.
Well, more later. So glad the Tsunami was a dud. Talk about nerves!!! We all need to get together sometime and have a going away party for the Taylors....there's always something. Happy March birthdays to Dr Suess and Michelle.

Blue Ribbon Compass Cake
Britten participated in the big Cake Bake for his Cub Scout Pack a few weeks ago. His task was to create a cake with edible items on the theme : "100 Years of Scouting". Britten made a Compass Cake and walked away with a Blue Ribbon. We were so proud of him! He was also very proud of himself as he should be. He really enjoys Cub Scouts. He's written letters to Veterans, participated in Food Drives, visited the San Francisco Chronicle Offices, the Pleasant Hill Police Department and has learned a great deal about self, community and respect for nature.
Thanksgiving
Britten and Hailey all decked out for Thanksgiving. Naturally, neither would smile but all the same, they do clean up well.
Pizza Time
The kids made pizza the other night. Hailey's favorite part is putting on the cheese; Britten's favorite part is eating it!
Hailey Elaine
Hailey is growing so much. We can't keep track of it anymore. She continues to be our spunky little girl. 4 today - teenage tomorrow.

Hailey Crocker
Hailey and I took a day off work and school last month. We spent the day doing planting spring bulbs and baking cookies. It was the best!
First Day
Britten standing in front of his playground on the first day of First grade. The playground was still under construction at the time. B is doing a great job academically. He reads so well, loves math and is always on task with homework. We still have some work to do with his class clown antics but there's been progress.

GOOD NEWS!!
EXTRA, EXTRA...HOT OFF THE PRESS
Specialist sees Britten Paul on 7.7.09. After a thorough exam and secondary review of x-rays, it is determined that the boy only suffered a sprain. Patient will be confined to a sling for approximately three weeks. Physical activities should be limited but a cast is not required. Witnesses claim that the parents and the patient were smiling profusely at the news.
On the entertainment front, Ms Paradise and Mr Justin might be receiving a visit from the Lake Havesu City Stork within the next 24 hours. We will keep the reporters on duty until the news is confirmed. Finally, Happy Anniversary to the Haase's. Congratulations on 2 yrs!
